A sea of Ferraris at the Concorso Italiano

Every year, in mid-August, car enthusiasts from around the globe flock to the Monterey Car Week. With events like the Rolex Historic Car Races at Laguna Seca, the RM Auto Auction, and, of course, the world renowned Concour d’Elegance on the 18th green at the Pebble Beach golf course.

My personal favorite, being an Italian car addict, is the Concorso Italiano and this year looks to be one of the best. After last year’s complete disaster, the new owner / CEO of the event, Tom McDowell, looks to have resurrected the event back to its elite status. Gone is the crappy food and wind-blown airfield tarmac of last year.

Other than the beautiful setting of the Laguna Seca Golf Ranch; this year, we can look forward to Alfa’s rare and unique B.A.T. cars, a world-record number of Ferrari 288 GTOs, Elvis Presley’s 1971 DeTomaso Pantera, 1 of 20 Lamborghini Reventons, and a number of distinguished automotive figures such as Valentino Balboni, Piero Rivolta and Jay Leno. Also in attendance will be the Ferrari, Lamborghini, Pantera, Bertone, Fiat, Iso and Bizzarini car clubs.

Tomorrow won’t come soon enough. I promise I’ll take plenty of photos!
