Rantings and Ravings from the CarOverload.com Crew

Bumblebee just picked up an LS9 for 700+hp

bumblebee_transformersIts a week away from a highly anticipated movie, Transformers 2. Everyone here at Car Overload will likely see it the first weekend it comes out. Its got bad ass cars, planes and other mechanical stuff that transforms into giant robots. Oh, and Megan Fox is in it too. What really got me going in the last movie was when Bumblebee transformed into the 2010 Camaro which, at the time, was mostly known to the car community as a prototype. Well the 2010 Camaro that we’ve been waiting to see on the streets for the last 3 years is now out, and tuning shops are already trying to crank out more HP.

At 426hp, the 2010 Camaro 2SS is by no means hurting for power. But, if you feel that smoking your tires just isn’t enough and you want to outright melt them, Hennessey Motorsport has your car, the Camaro HPE700. This beast is sporting the LS9 engine from the Nurburgring champ, the Corvette ZR-1. It cranks out 705hp and 717lbs of torque. With a $109,000 ticket price you can bet your weekly paycheck that you won’t be seeing many of these around.

While its no LS9 Supercharged motor, I’d be happy to get my hands on a new k04 turbo kit from the guys over at APR for my GTI. While I’m thoroughly pleased with my APR ECU upgrade, I’m sure I’ll feel the urge for more power after a few more months. Any more power than that through the front wheels and I won’t be able to turn the car. Then again, Camaro owners would probably say that turning is overrated.

We don’t have any videos of the new Camaro HPE700, but this video of the ZR-1 gives you a good idea on what its going to sound like.
