There are two things a man never shares, his woman or his car(except in LeMans 24)

It’s the most famous race in history, the Le Mans 24. It all started out with one simple question – who can drive the farthest in 24 hours? It’s a grueling 3,000 miles that tests the limits of the drivers, cars, and crew. We stumbled upon the documentary, Truth in 24, while surfing iTunes on our Apple TV. It’s available now as a free download and will air on the Speed Network on Friday, June 12th.

Audi TDI Domination
I can’t think of a narrator more suited to tell this story than Jason Statham. He’s the guy that has been kicking ass both in and out of a car in The Transporter trilogy. In the last installment of the series, Statham drove an Audi S8 which sports 450hp and 398lbs of torque. This perhaps made him the obvious option for narrating this film. The story is told from the perspective of Audi’s LeMans team. At the time of filming, Audi had won 7 out of the last 8 years in Le Mans. The star of this movie is the Audi R10 which is equipped with the revolutionary Audi TDI engine, and it does not disappoint.

A few take aways from the movie:

  • The fastest car doesn’t always win.
  • While the driver is always the star, the engineers and the pit crew are unsung heroes.
  • LeMans is the ultimate battle between man and machine.
  • LeMans night time driving is like looking into the past. In essence, whatever they can see has already happened, since it is too late to respond to anything visible to the eye at those speeds.

Please let us know if you liked the movie as much as we did in the comments below!
